In a chase through the streets of Chicago, detective Mike Norris shoots fugitive and serial killer Charles Lee Ray, when Charles is shot, he seeks refuge in a toy store, and already in agony, he performs a Haitian voodoo spell, transferring his soul to a doll called Good Guy. A widow, without knowing it, ends up buying the doll from a street vendor who finds it, as a gift for her six-year-old son Andy. Calling himself Chucky, Lee Ray revives in the doll and seeks to reverse the spell by transferring his soul to the boy's body, because the longer he stays in this form, the more definitive, human and vulnerable he will become. The murderous villain then starts to use the toy's apparently innocent and fragile form to deceive and continue making his victims. In the second film, with his mother in a mental hospital, Andy goes to an orphanage, where Chucky comes back to haunt him. One of the most popular characters in contemporary horror, created by Don Mancini in the 1988 film Child's Play, and played by Brad Dourif in both live-action and voice-over, Chucky is the precursor to a franchise that already features seven films .
