Fontoura Biotonic Rich In Iron Mineral Supplement 400ml

Biotonic Fontoura is a mineral supplement indicated as an aid in deficiency anemia and inadequate diets.

Biotonic Fontoura is an oral medication composed of substances that provide iron and phosphorus, which are important to help treat iron deficiency anemia (lack of iron).

Iron is a constituent element of hemoglobin (blood cells) that are responsible for transporting oxygen in living beings.

Phosphorus is a mineral necessary to activate the action of essential vitamins, such as some of the B complex.

The main criteria for a good response to oral iron treatment are:
Reduction or disappearance of symptoms and signs related to iron deficiency;
Greater tolerance to physical activity;
Reticulocytosis (increase in reticulocytes in the blood, which are precursors of erythrocytes (red blood cells = hemoglobin), which can be observed between the 3rd and 5th day after the start of treatment and is maximum between the 8th and 10th day;
Increase in the Hb (hemoglobin) value of at least 2 g/dL after two to three weeks of treatment.

How to Use:
Take before the main meals (lunch and dinner).

Adults - 2 tablespoons (30mL)

Children over 4 years of age - 1 tablespoon (15mL) 

Do not exceed the recommended dosages, except under medical supervision.

The maximum daily dose of Biotonic Fontoura is 60mL (4 tablespoons per day) for adults and 30mL (2 tablespoons per day) for Children.

During treatment, it is recommended not to drink alcoholic beverages.

Biotonic Fontoura should be used together with a diet rich in iron in the treatment of anemia.

Treatment should last until the symptoms of anemia (weakness, tiredness, malaise, etc.) are relieved. If symptoms persist, seek medical advice.

If I forget to take a dose, take that dose as soon as I remember to continue the treatment. Therefore, I should not double the dose because I forgot to take the previous one.

Contraindications:
This medicine should not be used by people who are hypersensitive to the components of the formula and in cases of anemia that is not caused by a lack of iron, such as megaloblastic anemia (lack of vitamin B12 and folic acid) or sideroblastic anemia (lack of copper).

Therefore, it is contraindicated for:
Non-iron deficiency anemias (which are not caused by a lack of iron), particularly those characterized by accumulation or inability to use iron, such as hemochromatosis (deposit of iron in the tissues due to excess iron in the body);
Sickle cell anemia (a hereditary disease, passed from parents to children) characterized by changes in red blood cells);
Hemolytic anemia (anemia due to hemolysis, abnormal breakdown of red blood cells in the blood vessels);
Sideroblastic anemias;
Lead anemias;
Thalassemia (hereditary blood disease that affects a person's ability to produce hemoglobin);
Anemias due to tumors or infections (without iron deficiency);
Anemias associated with leukemia (malignant disease of white blood cells).
Processes that prevent the absorption of iron via the oral route, such as chronic diarrhea.
It is also contraindicated in patients with:
Active tuberculosis (an infectious disease that affects the lungs);
Duodenal ulcer;
Gastroenteritis (inflammation and infection of the stomach and small and large intestines, caused by organisms such as viruses, bacteria and parasites);
Hepatitis (inflammation of the liver);
Hepatic insufficiency (liver malfunction);
Hemosiderosis (local or generalized deposit of iron greater than normal, within the tissues);
Gastric intolerance to iron.
